My research ended with the 32GB Moto X 2014 2nd generation Pure Android Edition, which I use on the T-Mobile Network prepaid plan. This was a close as I could get to my Nexus striving need. I must say, I have now had the Moto X for about 7 months now and can say that it has been a great device to fill my needs. I went online to "build your own" and got what would work for me. I did not go with any wood or leather, but more traditional with odd colors to keep it original. The display on this device was really nice with the 5.2" Amoled, 1080p 1920x1080 screen. It has 423 ppi, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The 13mp camera and 2mp camera on the front are both plenty for me. I would have liked to see it with 3GB of RAM, but the 2GB's works fine for this device. I also would have liked a larger battery, as it comes with a 2300 mAh and a quick charge ability, which helps make up for the smaller battery. The only other big thing I needed was NFC, which this phone does have.
It has been a fun phone, with only a few extra apps that Motorola provides on the phone. I do use a few of those apps that I found to be useful. So, if you are still carrying around a Nexus 4 or even a Nexus 5 and you did not want to get such a large screen either, then this could be the device for you. If you can wait a while longer, I believe the 3rd edition of the Moto X is rumored to be coming out in the fourth quarter of this year.
Well, I will still hope for another Nexus to be on the horizon with something that would fit my wants as far a screen size, but if not, I will also have the next Moto X to fall back on.
